چکیده
An adult with an unusual combination of mesodennal defects is presented. A striking finding was the hermation of a major portion of the large bowel into the pericardial cavity through a foramen of Morgagni defect. In addition, the patient exhibited a variety of muscular skeletal anomalies, Monckeberg sclerosis of the muscular arteries, and complete heart block. Urinary mucopolysaccharide excretion and a chromosome count were normaL The most likely explanation of the observed findings is a biochemical defect in connective

Congenital peritoneopericardial diaphragmatic hernia in a terrier dog
A one-month-old male terrier dog was referred in shock status with a history of anorexia, tachypnea, abdominal distention and progressive weight loss. Auscultation of right side of the lungs found enhanced respiratory noises. The thorough auscultation of the opposite side of the chest revealed the presence of typical intestinal sounds. Cardiac auscultation revealed muffled heart sounds and a di...

Congenital defects of the pericardium are considered rare. Until 1979 , the reported cases were only about 200.1 Total absence of the left pericardium is the most common defect2 and less common is a partial defect of the left pericardium. Other types, i.e. isolated right-sided defects, total pericardial absence and diaphragmatic pericardial defects are very rare.3 Before the last decade, t...

Endometriosis is defined by the presence of ectopic endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. Despite being a lead cause of chronic pelvic pain and infertility, its clinical presentation can vary, leading to diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Extra-pelvic endometriosis is particularly difficult to diagnose owing to its ability to mimic other conditions. Endometrial tissue in a surgical...
متن کاملPrenatal coverage of experimental gastroschisis with a collagen scaffold to protect the bowel.
BACKGROUND/PURPOSE In fetuses with gastroschisis, toxic products in the amniotic fluid and constriction at the defect of the abdominal wall are considered causative of damage to the eviscerated bowel. The aim of this study was to cover the eviscerated bowel in gastroschisis with a collagen scaffold to protect the bowel and induce cell growth into the scaffold, which could lead to skin or abdomi...
